Mouse is back on his travels

We have a Pack mouse who gets to go to lots of different places. During the recent half-term, William took him to Warner Brother's Harry Potter studios.
Where next we wonder?

Helen Watts - local Author

We were delighted to welcome back Helen Watts for our first meeting in February to meet with our current group of Cub Scouts. Helen completed the Bookreader badge with each of them, as well as talking about her work as a writer. Helen lives in Wilmcote and her book "No Stoned Unturned" is an excellent read for older children.

Tin Can Cooking

Cooking is always a favourite with our Cubs and on a cold night in January we cooked lots of pancakes on tops of tin cans.

Cub100 Party: Friday 16th December 2016

Cub Packs across the country gathered on Friday 16th December 2016 to mark the 100th birthday of Cub Scouts (originally Wolf Cubs). At 19.16hrs, the Cubs renewed their Cub Scout Promise.

During the two hour Party, the Cubs played games, ate party food and had lots of fun with a magician and clown.

International badge

We've been working our way through the four modules needed for the International activity badge. It seemed a natural thing to do given our trip to France. This week, Tuesday 13th December was St Lucia's Day in - amongst other countries in some other similar forms - Sweden, so we held our own Light Festival at the end of the meeting. St Lucia is celebrated as a Saint because of her care and thoughfulness for the Christians hiding from persecution in the catacombs. As she wanted to carry as much food as possible, she wore her candles on her head to keep her hands free.
Sophie was our Saint Lucia (or Lucy) and once the Cubs had made their ceremonial candle holders, we walked around the green areas and they formed a candle and sparkler lit guard of honour for our Saint!

Remembrance Sunday

We were delighted to attend the service on Remembrance Sunday again this year. We had a biggest turnout in the five years since we re-opened. Well done Cubs and thank you for your support on such an important day.

Cub100 - take over of WASPS versus Newcastle Falcons

On 30th October we joined other Cubs from across Warwickshire at the Aviva Premiership match between WASPS and Newcastle Falcons (won by WASPS!). This was all part of our celebrations for the 100th year of Cub Scouts.
