One of our most popular activities is cooking outside; it doesn't matter whether it's simply toasting marsmallows, cooking sausages, creating S'mores or doing a Nettle Stew - Cubs love it! We did all of these evenings during the summer and early Autumn and often went home with that lovely smell of woodsmoke.

Tesco's Farm to Fork Trail
In June, we returned to Tesco in Stratford-upon-Avon so that the current set of Cubs could go on their Farm to Fork trail. The Cubs had a great time finding out about fish, cheeses, fruit & veg from all around the world, how the bread is baked and where & how it is all stored in their building. They also got to taste breads and cheeses! Thank you Tesco!

Four more Chief Scout's Silver Awards
It's great when our Cubs work to complete all of the seven Challenge Awards; that means that they get their Chief Scout's Silver Award. Not all of them get to achieve this (mainly because they aren't with us for the full 30 months or more), but we have a great record as a Cub Pack and we're proud of it. Each Cubs has done at least 61 different modules to a standard and had to earn at least 6 different Activity badges - quite a task! So, well done to Sonny, Tristan, Phoebe and Aimee. The badge was presented by Ian, the ADC Cubs for West Warwickshire (back, right).

West Warwickshire District Camp
This year our main camp was at Blackwell, which is near Bromsgrove. We joined the eight other Groups in West Warwickshire and had great fun doing lots of different things. The Beavers joined us from Saturday morning and it was great to all camp together on Saturday night. Here's just some of what we got up to....
May - time to Camp!
We held a Practise Camp towards the start of the month, so that the less experienced Cubs knew what to expect as well as us helping the younger Beaver section with their first night away. We camp outside, but use our facilities in the main building rather than the marquee.

St George's Day
This year our annual parade was in Studley and took place on the Saint's day itself - 23rd April! It was a longer walk than usual, but as the weather was fine, it was a great way to spend the afternoon!

Cub Leadership
It's important that every meeting isn't dominated with an adult leading every activity. Of course that happens on many occasions and often because we are instructing or being safety aware. However, there are many opportunities for our young people to shape what we do and their imagination brings a lot to the Pack. Last night, Phoebe donned a Leader's necker and led the games sessions. And, she did a great job of it too!
You can see from the smiles on the other Cub's faces how much they were enjoying what she was doing. Well done Phoebe.
