Making Baden-Powell scrapbooks

At last night's meeting, we made scrapbooks on Lord Robert Baden-Powell in recognition of the anniversary of his birth on 22nd February 1857. We also listened to some early recordings of him discussing the Grand Howl and how he started Scouting.

Goodbye....

We said "Goodbye and Good Luck" to two of our older Cubs at the half term meeting. Both Molly and Jack have achieved so much!

To start with, both are Chief Scout Silver Award holders and both have been model Cub Scouts

Molly joined in May 2012, but she has squeezed a lot into that time. As well as getting all 6 Challenge Awards for her Silver Award, she has completed 20 activity badges including Camper, Home Safety and Navigator. Molly has participated in everything since she joined, including the Cotswold Wildlife Park trip. In total, Molly spent 3 nights away with us. She became a Sixer in April 2013 and a Senior Sixer in December 2013.

Jack joined the Pack in November 2011. In that time, he has gained 29 Activity badges as well as 7 Challenge Awards. This is a record for our Cub Pack!

Jack has attended every day out we have done (including London) and come on every camp, including the 1 night at Warwick Castle. In total, he spent 6 nights away. He was appointed as a Sixer in September 2012 and became a Senior Sixer last December.

We'll miss them both! We hope you passed on some quiz tips to the other Cubs!

Our Winning Quiz team!

Take a bow Jack, Molly, Lucy and Callum - our Quiz Team representing the Pack at the West Warwickshire District Annual Cub Quiz, held at 1st Bearley & Snitterfield Scout Group. They were the winners with 36 points; 3 more than the second place team. Here they are receiving their certificates and Molly is happily clutching the trophy.

The rounds were on a variety of topics, such as sport, current affairs, map reading (hopefully the recent badgework helped), scouting and the winter olympics.

Well done all four of you - you can be very proud. For Jack and Molly, it was their last big activity - what a great way to go out!

Mouse has been on his travels again.

Mouse has been to Hungary for the first time. Here he is with our two young Leaders - Rob (known to the Cubs as Wontolla) and Cassie (Raksha). They are standing on Castle Hill, Budapest, overlooking the Szechnyi Bridge (Chain Bridge) - and yes it was as cold as it looks!

Map Reader walk

A number of our Cubs were able to complete their Map Reader badge on Sunday and most achieved their Hike 1 badge too as it was the first one they've been on. It was a bit muddy, but a lovely morning for a 4.6 mile walk.

Well done to Molly, Jack, Alfie, Eliah, Keiren, George, James, Felix, Christopher and Jacob who is slighly out of shot. Jacob's brother Elijah (wearing the blue coat) is one of the Beavers and he was presented with his Hike 1 badge too.
