At this week's meeting, Lucy, our guest instructor, did an exercise class to get the heart pumping. This was another health activity we were doing as part of the Skills Challenge. She even made Akela join in!

Plough Sunday 2016

Sunday 17th January was Plough Sunday in the village. The service at the church goes back hundreds of years and is the occassion when the local village plough is taken into the church to be blessed and a good harvest prayed for. It always happened in January, once the 12 days of Christmas were completed. Now it is a part of the month's family service. We joined the workers at Mary Arden's Farm on this very cold morning and walked behind the piper and the decorated plough, held high on its way to St Andrew's Church.

Well done to Alfie for carrying the flag so well.

New Chief Scout Silver Award holders

Many congratulations to both Felix and Harry on being our latest Cubs to earn their Chief Scout's Silver Award. They have earnt the award through successfully completing a combination of both the current Challenge Awrds and those that were running at the start of last year.

Presenting the badges and certificates was Katie, who came along to instruct the Cubs in two different dance styles.

Strictly Cub Dancing

A Dance Teacher came along this to teach the Cubs basics in the Waltz and the Cha-Cha-Cha. This was part of the Skills Challenge Award. Katie did a great job with them all - we didn't realise we had so many potentially great dancers...
