May, June & July: Gardener Activity badge

As part of their Gardener Activity badge, the Cubs made planters using bedding plants of their own choice. And then they had to look after them for three months - we had some great results!

June - our camp at Blackwell Adventure

This year, we camped at Blackwell Adventure (Blackwell, Bromsgrove). It was a Friday to Sunday camp and the Cubs were joined by our Beaver Scouts on the Saturday morning. They all did lots of activities, with rafting being particularly popular with the Cubs. They built their rafts and then carried them to the lake. Other activities included the Giant 3G Swing, High level climbing, grass sledging and craste stacking.

May & June’s Practise Camps

To help prepare our Cubs for a weekend at camp, we hold an overnight Practise Camp at our meeting place. They get to camp as well as doing a bit of badgework; basically, we try and follow the same timings as their first night at camp. They certainly enjoyed both the campfire singsong and the shelter building this year.
